Ronald Thompkins, CPA is the managing partner of the Florida offices of WatsonRice. He has more than 35 years of public accounting experience, including extensive experience serving governments (local, county, state and federal) and not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Thompkins serves as a firm specialist for our governmental and not-for-profit clientele in the Florida office. He is currently the firm's national quality control partner and performs quality and peer reviews for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Florida Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) firm membership.
Mr. Thompkins is a CPA and a graduate of Howard University, Washington, D.C. He is a member of both the AICPA and the FICPA. He is a member of the board of directors of the AICPA, a former state president of the FICPA and a current trustee of the FICPA's Education Foundation. He is also former president of the Opa-locka Rotary Club. He is vice chairperson of the board of trustees of the City of Miami General Employees and Sanitation Employees Pension Board. He is currently treasurer for the Alliance for Aging. Mr. Thompkins also serves as treasurer of the South Florida Chapter of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators, is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants and is an associate member of the Government Finance Officers Association.
Mr. Thompkins has also served as panelist and guest speaker to various educational and business organizations and regulatory bodies on issues and topics affecting the not-for-profit and government services industries.
